​Sustainable Energy Laboratory

The Sustainable Energy Laboratory is utilised by undergraduate and postgraduate students in MTU. It enables students to acquire hands-on experience with sustainable energy systems.

The MTU Sustainable Energy Laboratory consists of:

• PV module with variable tilt angle and electrical loads
• Irradiance source for PV module
• PV in grid-connected operation with inverter, maximum power point tracking, power meter and variable loads
• Wind tunnel with anemometer
• Heat pump with integrated controller and data logger with integrated WLAN router for operation via web browser
• Underfloor heating / geothermal energy absorber integrated into heat pump circuit
• Fan heater / air heat exchanger integrated into heat pump circuit
• Wind generator
• Building thermodynamic test cell
